Use the personalized purchase cost estimator or submit an application to find out how much it will cost to buy service.

The cost to buy most service types is based on:

  • The number of months of service you want to buy
  • Your current full-time salary
  • The current employee and employer contribution rates

Sign in to My Account and use the personalized purchase cost estimator to get an estimate to:

  • Buy service for an approved leave
  • Buy non-contributory service  

The personalized purchase cost estimator will calculate an estimate for you to buy the service. It will also show you an estimate of the increase in your monthly pension if you buy the service.

If you decide to buy service, send us a completed Purchase of service application.

When you use the estimator in My Account, it will pre-populate your Purchase of service application form with your personal information.

After you send us the completed application form, we will calculate the cost for you to buy service and send you a statement of cost. You must pay the full amount by the deadline shown.

You can’t use the personalized purchase cost estimator to get an estimate of the cost to buy past service   To get this cost, complete the Purchase of service application form and we will send you an estimate.
