Making changes to your plan information

You can make changes to your plan information by signing in to My Account or contacting BC's Municipal Pension Plan.


You can sign in to My Account to update your plan information. For some changes, you may need to contact BC's Municipal Pension Plan.

Personal information

Sign in to My Account:

  • To update your personal information, such as your address

Beneficiaries

Sign in to My Account:

  • If you want to nominate or change a beneficiary  

Contact the plan:

  • If a beneficiary has died
  • If a beneficiary has a new address

Changes in marital status

Sign in to My Account:

  • To notify us of a name change after you have married or divorced

Contact the plan:

  • If you have married, become a common-law spouse or are going through a separation or divorce
  • If your spouse   or beneficiary has died

Transferring or buying service

Sign in to My Account:

  • To use the personalized purchase cost estimator to find out the cost to buy service for an approved leave

Contact the plan:

  • To transfer service from another pension plan
  • To buy service when you worked with an employer participating in the plan but were not contributing to the plan
  • To buy service for an approved leave of absence
  • To claim credit for time you spent child-rearing

Planning for retirement

Sign in to My Account:

  • To use the personalized pension estimator to calculate the amount of your pension
  • To apply for your pension online

Contact the plan:

  • To request a mailed copy of your retirement planning package or pension estimate
  • To select a pension option once you’ve decided to retire

Pension payments, deductions and tax slips

Sign in to My Account:

  • To update your direct deposit information
  • To view and download your tax slips

Contact the plan:

  • To change the amount of tax taken off your pension payment

Death of a plan member

Contact the plan:

  • If a plan member dies and you are the beneficiary or represent the member’s estate
