Hilary is appointed by the British Columbia Public School Employers' Association (BCPSEA) and has continued to serve on the board of trustees since 2012.

Hilary has served as executive director of finance and pensions for BCPSEA, assistant secretary treasurer for Saanich School District 63, director of funding and French programs for the Ministry of Education, and accounting term professor at Camosun College. As well, she served as a trustee for the Public Education Benefits Trust.
