Appointed as a member of the Municipal Pension Advisory Board in 1999, Lyn was part of the team that negotiated joint trusteeship of the plan. She has continued to serve on the board of trustees since joint trusteeship in 2001.

Lyn has served as chief financial officer and executive director of corporate services for Health Employers Association of BC. She completed the advanced trustee management standards program (International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans) in pension fund leadership.
