Following are questions about retirement health coverage that the Municipal Retiree Benefit Trust Board of Trustees was not able to address during the AGM. We have edited questions for brevity and clarity.
Question: Is the Municipal Retiree Benefit Trust Board of Trustees considering changing to a different health and dental carrier?
The board regularly reviews the performance of Pacific Blue Cross (PBC) as the plan’s health and dental carrier.
There is no immediate plan to change carriers. In the future, the board may choose to change carriers if it is in the best interests of plan members enrolled in the group benefits program.
Question: Where can I find the reasonable and customary limits for paramedical providers?
Current reasonable and customary limits for paramedical providers are available on the Pacific Blue Cross website. You can also use PBC’s Reasonable & Customary Limits Calculator to find the limits for services incurred in past years or outside of BC.
