BCI’s climate action plan

BCI’s climate action plan helps position investments in two ways:

  1. by capitalizing on investment opportunities created by the long-term transition to a lower carbon economy, and
  2. by protecting investments from undue physical and transition risks.

This plan builds on the climate-related work that BCI began after becoming a founding member of the PRI in 2006. BCI is committed to always working in the best financial interests of its clients. Assessing and managing opportunities and risks presented by climate change is key to this commitment.

BCI is one of the founding members of the Sustainable Development Investments Asset Owner Platform. The platform provides a globally consistent framework and standard for investors to assess companies on their contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

17 goals to transform our world

The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. More important than ever, the goals provide a critical framework for COVID-19 recovery.
