Gary has been a National Representative with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) since 1997 and currently serves as pension coordinator for British Columbia.

In his role as pension coordinator, Gary leads work on pension issues in British Columbia and has extensive experience with defined benefit, defined contribution, and hybrid pension plans. He serves as staff advisor to the CUPE BC pension committee, a representative on the Municipal Employees Pension Committee, and chair of the Municipal Employees Pension Advisory Committee.

In addition, Gary works closely with CUPE's airline sector, representing airline locals in British Columbia. He has nearly 30 years of experience providing labour relations advice and support, including collective bargaining, organizing, grievances, arbitration, and contract administration.
