Sara chairs the pension committee for CUPE BC and sits on the National Advisory Committee on Pensions for CUPE. She has been the president of CUPE Local 403, Township of Langley Municipal Workers, since 2018. Sara has completed certificate programs in Canadian benefits and Canadian pensions through the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute.
